Hi All
I lost some very important files when system shut down unexpectedly..Is there a program similar to System restore in windows in Linux also using which maybe the files could be restored.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

what type of file your are looking for?
Yes.you may need to download tools like formost as said in that link.
There is also photorec to download.
Can use linux command dd- Lakshmipathi.G
