Cannot install AIT 100 tape drive in RHEL
Hi,
I have no experience with tape drives so hopefully someone has the answer here.
I have a server and the tape drive stopped working. When I try to write to it I get a device not found ( cat /some/file > /dev/st0)
Replaced it with a new tape drive and same problem. The bios seems to detect this scsi tape drive but the OS (RHEL 3) cannot. There is no reference to be found under /proc/scsi either.
I also tried both tape drives on another RHEL4 server but same problem occurs.
Surely an AIT 100 drive is common enough to be recognized by RHEL?I am on a journey to mastering Linux and I got a bloody long way to go!!!
