    Do you updtae your system on a regular basis?

    yes, i have upgraded yum, kernel too but no results

    It should just remove the Web Server packages.

    But as I always say backup your website just in case.

    I mucked with Centos quite a bit as well - it just always seems buggy... For some reason its not ported correctly..

    I would save the files you really need and switch to Fedora Core 6 - I have ran it on 2 servers for 6 months its rock solid (even against constant foreign attack)...

    But I thought the same and could never get anything in Centos to really work..

    I really don't know what you guys have managed to do!

    CentOS is basically a free version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I manage over 40 RHEL servers for my current employer and the only grief I get is on those with Oracle AS installed and then it's mostly due to greedy java processes.
