Realtek Rtl-8139d PCI Fast Ethernet in fedora7

I have tried installing the driver for Realtek Rtl-8139d PCI Fast Ethernet card with the driver given in the cd in fedora 7 but when i compile it a list of error is produced.I am a complete newbie .So,please help me out

Hi and Welcome to the forums.
Please post your errors, maybe someone could help you out a bit, and while you're at it, issue this command to identify your chipset.

/sbin/lspci

i got this reply when i used the command
0.1:02.0 ethernet controller:Hangzhou Silan Microelectronics Co. Ltd. Unknown device 2031(rev 01)

I had one more problem >i was using windows xp and was using my net.Then i switched over to fedora 7 my net started working but againg i rebooted fedora it stopped working and if i tried to activate the device using network configuration it said "device does not seem to be present"

Well just for the record, I think Fedora is the worse offender when it comes to support for most Network cards, but on the other hand this card seems to be problematic with Windows too. see these links

i downloaded the driver for my lan card from the link you gave.

But in the readme.txt it was mentioned that you should first install kernel headers.Please help me out with this as i have just satrted using linux so please help me.

when i typed the command
uname -r
it gave the following output

2.6.20-2925.9.fc7xen

You can probably find the kernel headers on the Install CD, if not then just look at
Fedora Project, sponsored by Red Hat
