Hey guys totaly new and in need of help.

Ok I've been playing with RedHat 9 on and off for a while now and I want to get serious with it and actually learn how to use it properly. So iI formatted out of Windows and into RedHat 9 well I have run into a few problems and have looked for many tutorials but nothing has helped. The problems I am having are....

    Installing NON-rpm files.
Installing my Sound Card Drivers (No sound atm )

Any help is much appreciated. Oh BTW my soundcard is an on-board VIA AC'97

For the soud card drivers you might try here -
    http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=294#md.
If not, then remember that google is your friend and do a search
there for something like "VIA AC'97".

And for installing non-rpm files take a look at the home page here in linux forums on the right hand side in a section called Linux Tutorials & HOWTO's
Here is the link that you probably want.

Give an example of what you did after you downloaded the drivers.

Also give an exact example of what command is not there.
