Internet connection = fail

I just got FC8 running on a Nec VersaPro VAJ10 laptop.....

I did a network install from an FTP, and got it all up and running, updated packages, and goofed around,a nd then shutdown.

I rebooted later, without the network cable inserted.........but later plugged it in. The internet no longer works!

I have tried numerous fixes but got nothing.......

the settings show that the domain name is localhost.localdomain I am plugged into a router.



I am just confused as to why it would suddenly cease working....

You can re-configure it with, (from the command line as su):

system-config-network

Check to make sure the little box that says "start device at boot" or something similar to that is checked.

when linux boots up it says "starting eth0" [FAILED].... so I think it is starting at boot, or at least attempting to

ill try the system-config-network in a few minutes

EDIT: LOL. booted up and the internet works now.
