    ok i did that and it still cannot activate desktop affects

    ATI doesn't work in any distro out of box and you have to install ATI driver manually.
    Execute this again
    grep -i driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Post output here. I will search if Linux supports your ATI card.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    sorry, really want to get the effects on, to show off at school lol. Well here
    [Jose@localhost ~]$ grep -i driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Driver "kbd"
    Driver "synaptics"
    Driver "fglrx"
    [Jose@localhost ~]$
