    splitview for linux?

With these giant monitors now-a-days, its nice to have two windows open side by side. There is a program for windows called "splitview" that lets you "maximize" a window to either side of the screen instead of the entire screen. Is there something like this for linux?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure it would be what you are looking for, but there are tiling window managers that open up full windows on screen rather than overlapping them:

The top 3 screenshots shown on this page are Linux tiling window managers.
