    Noob question - TAR Files???

So I downloaded this program in TAR format. I unzipped it using winrar, and now I have a bunch of source code. I'm in Windows, is there any way to get it to compile/run????? Sorry for asking here but googling didn't get me anywhere, so I just looked for a popular Linux forum!!

Here's the program I'm trying to run: Espresso

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

    Welcome to the forums!

Check this HowTo for installing software under Linux:

    http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...are-linux.html

I'm not sure about compiling it under Windows, though.

    Go to the extracted folder
There you might find README or INSTALL file ...you can view that and can do as per instructed in those files......
boot up your linux and you can follow the instructions .. i think you might have to be root for executing these commands

So, why you don't try to compile in windows?...

I don't have a windows box!! ... so, I can't do it for you... anyway, in a fast-checking of the source code, it doesn't seem to have an operating system dependency (I mean, I think it's ansi C), so MAYBE, it can be compiled on windows... try with borlandc or something similar, the code is really old.

Any ideas on how to do this? I'm a complete noob haha

A few years back I compiled like, one file. But how do I compile ALL of them? And make it into EXE file or something?

Not to be rude or anything, but wouldn't you have better luck on a Windows Forum?
