Noob question - TAR Files???
So I downloaded this program in TAR format. I unzipped it using winrar, and now I have a bunch of source code. I'm in Windows, is there any way to get it to compile/run????? Sorry for asking here but googling didn't get me anywhere, so I just looked for a popular Linux forum!!
Here's the program I'm trying to run: Espresso
Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Go to the extracted folder
There you might find README or INSTALL file ...you can view that and can do as per instructed in those files......
boot up your linux and you can follow the instructions .. i think you might have to be root for executing these commands

Anyone? Just need a simple "No, this is impossible to do on Windows", then I'll stop buggin ya'll!

So, why you don't try to compile in windows?...
I don't have a windows box!!
... so, I can't do it for you... anyway, in a fast-checking of the source code, it doesn't seem to have an operating system dependency (I mean, I think it's ansi C), so MAYBE, it can be compiled on windows... try with borlandc or something similar, the code is really old.
