    should I use fedora

Hello, I have been using a knoppix livecd for about two months now and I would like to install a more permanent version of Linux, one that i can install on the hard drive. A friend recommended that I try fedora. Is this a good Linux to start off with or is there something else that would be better for someone like me who is just starting out with linux?

    Welcome to the forums, Devin0!

Yes, fedora, mandriva, opensuse, and ubuntu are all considered good distros for those new to linux.

Check the list of distros on the right side of the page at for popular Linux distros. Any in the top 10 or so should be good.
