    Madwifi issue


    Hi,
    I installed the madwifi drivers but whenever i try to activate the ath0 i get
    Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20) :
    SET failed on device ath0 ; Invalid argument.

    No it doesn't...i waits ong fr the ip address and eventually fails.

    I asked that because i had that error/warning, but the wireless was working.
    So I think thats not the problem.
    Maybe you could give more information, like #cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ath0

    Determining IP information for wlan0...
    when I use MODE=Auto instead of Managed

    That helped me.

    lspci | grep Atheros
    modprobe -l | grep ath
    dmesg | grep ath
    What madwifi package you install? do you use wpa_supplicant? What kernel are you using?, etc...

    Hi,
    Thanks alot for th reply..w.ell i got wireless up and running only when i removed the security. I run open authentication with wep encryption.COuls u tell me how get around this??
