    Question Loading kernel in GUI mode


    Hi
    i have booted the red hat linux kernel in Text mode by adding 3 in the kernel command. Now i want to add or provide a link to the GUI which already i have. Can i make a link to my code from the linux code.ie, When ever i am booting the system instead of default GUI i have to load my GUI.
    can anyone help me?

    You need to add your GUI to the sessions in /usr/share/xsessions. You will then be able to choose your GUI from the list of sessions provided by your login manager. If you want your GUI to be started by default when you boot into the CLI, you need to edit ~/.xinitrc and put in the commands used to start your GUI e.g. for KDE its "exec startkde".
