Apache and MySQL is a pretty complicated subject matter, even if your not a n00b. I would recomend taking a look at the Xampp server distro. It includes apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl, and more all in one easy-to-install package.

thanx 'prey' .. i just need to make it a part of my boot up. I have it all installed and running.

gstuartj .. from personal experience i noticed that installing a package that alredy has everything integrated is fine ... but when time comes to make some updates it becomes an issue. Besides I think i would learn far more doing the install separatelly. But thank you for your advice.

You can edit your /etc/rc.local file

Just put in there the commands to start the programs e.g.

    apachectl start
