How to create inheritance file permission as a user....

I have an ftp/web on my uni server

i want to set up some application with webcam...

i use dorgem software ( to transfer captured image from webcam to my ftp server..every 10 seconds..

so, every 10 seconds the image file (let say webcam.jpg) in ftp will be overwritten

the problem is.. the file permission is always chmod 640.., when i change to 644 the permission goes back to 640 because every 10 seconds the dorgem send new file with a same name (webcam.jpg)..

how to make my webcam.jpg file stays with chmod 644....

    thanks in advance...

Not that I know the application but it seems to me that you need to cahnge umask setting. Maybe it is set in a config file otherwise have a look at the Umask the user the appis running under uses
I am on a journey to mastering Linux and I got a bloody long way to go!!!

If you use YawCam you can set what permission the file gets when it uploads to the server.
