    [SOLVED] dependency error

    Hi

    On Fedora 8, how do I resolve the following dependency error message?
    I remember that I had to manually install kdemultimedia-extras-nonfree-3.5.8-1.lvn8.i386 to get Amarok play mp3 files. Since then, I allways get this error message and the update process aborts.
    I have looked for kdemultimedia3 >= 3.5.8 but I could only find 3.5.7 or similar same for xine-lib
    kdemultimedia3 >= 3.5.8 is needed by package 6:kdemultimedia-extras-nonfree-3.5.8-1.lvn8.i386 (installed)
    Missing Dependency: xine-lib = 1.1.11 is needed by package xine-lib-extras-nonfree-1.1.11-1.lvn8.i386 (installed)
    Thanks Guy

    yum repolist

    also the actual error output from

    yum clean all
    yum update

    I don't know if it is your intention to run Rawhide

    But you are, Rawhide is intended for testers and developers who follow the mailing lists, report problems and find solutions.

    In other words it's broken more often than not and you're on your own.

    Most of the packages on your system appear to already be F9 so I can only suggest that you try enabling the Development repo for Livna and see if that helps.

    At this point you may be better of grabbing the Beta release and upgrading or waiting for Final then upgrading your system.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks removing Rawhide and the local installation media and enabling Livna solved the problem.
