    Installing RAR


    I'm a newbie of the linux, and I want to install winrar, so how can I do that for any program not only the winrar, is it the standerd way like windows or every program has it's owen way and it must describ it.

    winrar is a windows application that you would need to use wine to run, but why bother since there are unrar applications made specifically for linux

    installation of software depends on the distribution you are using, what is your distribution?

    Install unrar. It should be available in default sources.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    My distribution is REDHAT Enterprice 4.
