    Question JDK not found

Hi all. I am using fedora 7 and i downloaded netbeans 6.0.1 with a .sh extension. Every time i try installing it from the terminal, it says that it can't find jdk. Now, i have two question to ask. One, if it claims there is no JDK for java, then how is i possible to make java programs from the console? Two, if there really is no JDK does anyone know where i can get one (or two, the other for my buddy)? Thanks

You can download JDK from following sun site:

    Java SE Downloads

Note: you can get a version with/without netbeans.
