can i install fedora 2 with just the first cd, cos i can do an install while waiting for the other cd's r downloading, is this possible?...

No
No, that is not possible, unless you have 2 pc's
you need to get at least 2 disks, because disk 3, 4 aren't needed unless later on you decide to add more hardware.

nothing
all it has is some drivers, which u can get in like 2 minutes from your hardwares site.
Some software, but nothing really usefull

kk cheers guys, i just downloaded the 64 bit version 2 stupidly realise i got an Athlon XP which doesnt support it so i had 2 download the 32bit version. at least i got 2 waste some disks!

i would suggest you to install what you need from all the disks in order not to search for packages later..
