Internet and Network connection on Fedora8

Hi, I have Fedora 8 on my laptop machine which is not connecting to the internet although it used to perfectly connect therebefore, apparently as it is closing it shows that the KDENetwork manager is dead, but sometimes it will be okay, all other settings to my knowledge are okay.

    What could be wrong?
    Someone please kindly assist me.

    Regards,
    Max

    Hello there:

I do not use Fedora, but I will suggest the following.
Can you verify that you are getting an IP?

If you are, can you ping outside your network?
For example, can you execute ping Google
and get a reply from Google

Please let all of us know.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the replies

The IP and DNS addresses are all okay. It cannot ping and even the ifconfig is not displaying anything. Anyway I did away with the fc8 and downloaded fc9 which is so perfect!

But I think I had changed a configuration somewhere in oblivion.

    Thanks again for thy response

    Regards,
    Max
