Can anyone please tell me the settings that i need to do for logging into linux machine automatically as root user. I tried to search in net but I could not find any information about settings to logon as root user however I was able to find for other users.

Hi and Welcome !
It is not recommended to log in as root user and setting up autologin for root user could be real disaster. I would suggest not to do this and use su for gaining root privileges while logging in as Regular User.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

You only need to log in as root to make system-wide changes. If you are not making these you won't have any need to do so. If you are running a VM to learn Linux you might find that all you will learn is your first bad Linux habit.
