    copy hdd to hdd in linux


    Dear All,

    How can I copy linux pc to another pc, HDD to HDD with all of my program

    Welcome to the forums!

    You can use the dd command to clone one drive to another:

    Go to a terminal or shell prompt and issue the following dd command:

    Code:
    dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb
    Change the command as needed for your own situation. The above command works as follows:

    if=/dev/sda : source disk
    of=/dev/sdb : destination disk

    Be sure to have a backup in case something should go wrong, and note that it might take a while for the complete copy to take place.
