    help on red hat linux


    hey i am new to linux OS.

    I had just installed ubuntu linux distro in a system which has 160GB hard disc and 2 GN ram.

    can i install redhat along with ubuntu linux.

    if so can u please tell me where to download redhat and which version is better.

    You can install as many distros as you like.
    Latest version of RHEL is 5 but its not free. You have to purchase license for it. I would suggest you to install Fedora 9 or CentOS. Both are RedHat based and free to download/install.

    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    but wile installing fedora i was not able to get accesses to ubuntu...
    how to solve this
    my system automatically starts with fedora how to solve this

    There is a problem with Fedora. It doesn't detect other installed Linux distros and one has to edit its GRUB ( Boot Loader ) manually. Thats very easy though.

    Mount / partition of Ubuntu and copy first title block ( title, root, kernel and intrd lines ) from its /boot/grub/meun.lst file. Add that block in Fedora's /boot/grub/grub.conf file.
    In case you have any confusion, boot up Fedora, login as root, open Terminal/Konsole and execute this
    Code:
    /sbin/fdisk -l
    df -h
    * Its small L in fdisk -l.
    Post output here.

    ok but before i do that where to download even an earlier version of an red hat linux OS....

    There is only one Linux Partition. Is it a complete output of fdisk -l command? Post the output of df -h command too.
