    Fedora installer has installed GRUB in MBR of Internal Harddisk. You have to re-install Windows Boot Loader in Internal disk and GRUB in MBR of External disk.
    Follow instructions from here to fix Vista problem.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    You have to edit a few configuration files before re-installing GRUB. Does your Lappy's BIOS support booting up from External disk?

    Two options :

    * Edit grub.conf and /etc/fstab files and re-install GRUB.
    or
    * Re-install Fedora and disable internal disk this time. Install GRUB in MBR of External disk only.

    In any case, boot in rescue mode using Installation Media and post the output of fdisk -l command here.
