    How to send scp message of generated by verbose to a variable


    Hi
    I am new to shell scripting
    I am trying to do scp in a shell script and I want to take message generated by verbose in a variable e.g.

    scp -vr abc@some_ip_of_other_machine:/some/path/to/file path_to_my_folder

    now I want to see full information generated by above command in some variable .
    how can I do it please help me.

    you can maybe redirect the output to a file and then check the file afterwards
