not able to play video files.....

why is this happening,.....
this is the 1st step i try after i try to make my fedora play some video/audio files...
I'm curious why you would be removing media players with yum instead of installing them. If you want to play video files, you're going to need those plug-ins. But first, have you added the livna repositories for Fedora 8? (I'm only assuming Fedora 8 from the mirrors link in your post.) Execute, as root:Code:
rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-8.rpm
You can install VLC, which supports a lot of media files(including mp3,wma,flv and ogg) without the need for codecs.
yum install vlc
