    how to update kernel with apt

    i want to know how do i update or upgrde the kernel of my fc2 with the tool apt.
    i been doiing first of alll apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, apt-get dist-upgrade but for some reason the kernel wont fetch or upgrade to latest version i have the kernel of the default distrubition but on the yum shows there are new kernel versions.
    i dont want it update thru yum i want to keep using apt tool.
    if any one can tell me how to configure apt to get the new kernel please .
    help will be appreciate, thank you all.

    You can type : apt-get install kernel-<version>
    or use : Synaptic, select the kernel you want and the modules and press the apply button

    To install synaptic use: apt-get install synaptic.

    As a minor advice: choose the version of the kernel best suiting your machine to get some performance boost.
