I have just installed fluxbox but cant get it started!
The version I installed was the RPM on the official page.
When i type "startx" it starts teh default WM (Don't whish one it is but its very lightwight).
Also tried "startfluxbox" "fluxbox" etc and it give me something like "X isnt started bla bla bla"
What is the problem?
Please help me!
You start in text mode I assume.
Login as root and Edit the file : /etc/inittab
You'll see something like:
# Default runlevel. The runlevels used by RHS are:
# 0 - halt (Do NOT set initdefault to this)
# 1 - Single user mode
# 2 - Multiuser, without NFS (The same as 3, if you do not have networking)
# 3 - Full multiuser mode
# 4 - unused
# 5 - X11
# 6 - reboot (Do NOT set initdefault to this)
This will start linux in graphical mode from the next time you bootup.
Now to switch without rebooting: type init 5 at the prompt.
You'll now see the graphical login manager infront of you.
If you sellect: SESSION, you can select Fluxbox and then login.

You could also see if you have a .xinitrc file in your home directory. If so you can select the wm to load from startx.Lansbury's Lido
