    There are some command line web browsers that you can use.

    Is that what you mean?

    lynx is a text based browser you can run from a terminal

    I doubt this is installed by default. I think first you have to install these text based browsers.

    Links2 and w3m are very good text based browsers. Most distros include them in their repos.
