    No space left on device


    Hello, I have a 2.2 Gb file on a cd that I am trying to copy to a directory on my computer:

    cat /media/cdrecorder/FILE.gz | gunzip /home/me/FILE.iso

    However, half way through I get he error: gunzip: FILE: No space left on device.

    Huh???

    df -k
    and see if you have the free space needed in /home partition.If you don't have a separate home partition (you should, not having one is a bad practice), see how much space you have on / partition.
