    Eclipse problem

    i have downloaded eclipse-jee-ganymede-SR1-linux-gtk.tar.gz and unzipped using

    # tar -xzvf eclipse-jee-ganymede-SR1-linux-gtk.tar.gz

    it got successfully unzipped, but once i open it and workspace is created a blank window with eclipse written on the to without any message is appearing please help me out with this problem

    Which distribution are you using? If you are conneted to the internet check this table of commands on how to install programs.
    In Ubuntu for example, it is sudo apt-get install eclipse and in Fedora sudo yum install eclipse
    The tar.gz file you have probably needs compiling and installation to work, so the above method is much easier.
