yum-->>HTTP Error 404: Not Found Please help me!
Hello everybody,
i'am new here on the forums and i'am also new with linux
my system is RedHot EL 4 for 32bit x86
today i have a problem about yum.I tried the following commando "yum info <the packagename>" but the only thing i get was this message and any following commando was the same message
just like this:
[root@chunk etc]# rpm -q yum
yum-2.6.1-1
[root@chunk etc]# yum info bmp-mp3
Setting up repositories
freshrpms [1/1]
http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linu...ta/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404: Not Found
Trying other mirror.
Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: freshrpms
failure: repodata/repomd.xml from freshrpms: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.

Is there somebody who knows how to solve this problem?

Hi cindychunk, welcome to Linux Forums.
First of all, that link to freshrpms is bad, it's no good. You could add another repo if you like.

Secondly, I believe that you paid for RHEL, right? You should be able to get support from Redhat. I think that If you modify RHEL too much, Redhat may not offer you support anymore because you have altered the product.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
