    I have to undelete/unformat harddisk

    Hi All,

    I am newbie this forum, I have problem with my server.

    In my server have two harddisk (1. os centos, 2. data)
    in harddisk data, I create partition with ext2 and format with mke2fs.
    I mount harddisk data to /home/it/sharing and I create sharing data with samba and the server working well and many user can safe their data to /home/it/sharing and many data from user in this hardisk

    I don't know what happen with my server, suddently data user in harddisk data is empty.

    What kind I solve this problem for getting data user back

    Maybe, I have to :
    1. Undelete this harddisk (but I don't know howto make it)
    2. Unformat this harddisk (but I don't know howto make it)
    3. Or another way

    How can I solve this problem ?, All opinion/way will be appreciate.

    Thank You All

    From a user right here on this forum => GIIS

    Member => Lakshmipathi

    *Edit* - Oops - I didn't see this note about GIIS: But you can't recover the files deleted before installation of giis.

    Another => E2UNDEL Project

    PS. Try searching via the forum or Google.

    Hi yopisuwanto,
    If your File system is ext2 then it will be easy to recover them - e2undel as pointed by HROAdmin26

    If it's ext3FS - then Yes...that major drawback...But i have written ext3carve to overcome this limitation of giis. ext3carve may *corrupt * disk -- gET iT i sAY .giis - ext3 File Undelete Tool
