    im afraid you add the wrong repository.
    go to /etc/yum.repos.d and you move all the rpmfusion...something files to another directory and you do
    Code:
    yum install vlc
    once more and see

    so now you know that there is no problem with yum

    just go here and click on Fedor 8, 9 or 10 and follows the instruction. after installing if there no problem with the repository it should be working

    i had installed the respective packages earlier and it sez that these packages are allready installed->Nothing to install

    execute this
    Code:
    rpm -qa | grep rpmfusion
    this should give you the package you installed and you remove it with
    Code:
    yum remove <package name>
    and then install it once more from the link above

    done that and it seems to be processing dependencies ever since a whole lot of dependencies. and some for fc10 again. and i think it's doing it for the whole system again

    i dont see why its fetching some F10 packages. but for a workaround you can remove the rpmfusion then you update your system with

    yum update
    then you put back rpmfusion and try to install vlc
