    Out of Scan Range

    Hi Everyone,
I am a new user of Linux using Redhat Linux 8. I mistakenly adjusted my monitor settings from 800 x 600, to 800 x 1024 trying to enlarge the screen settings. Now I get the out of scan range message. How can I reconfigure the monitor settings to get back to the normal startup.

    Thanks,

    Pete

well if you boot using the cd 2 and then choose the recovery option, then edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and remove the entry which is your 800x1024 ( =o ) then you should be able to restart and the default will be back to 800x600

edit: its probably not recovery it could be called like failsafe or something
