    fedora installation in xeon processor

    Hi all,

I have a system with the following configuration

    - xeon(TM)CPU 2.40GHz 2.37Ghz
    - 1Gb ram
    - Windows XP profess.

I installed VMware workstation to run Linux- fedora like an application in windows environment.

I get the following error when i tried to do so

"This kernal requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i1586"

"Unable ot boot - please use a kernal appropriate for you CPU"

I tried searching the iso for i1586 but I could not get.

    Kindly help me with this

    Thanks

The message is as-stated. You cannot run a 64 bit guest OS without a physical CPU with VT extensions. Your Xeon does not have VT, so you cannot run *any* 64 bit guest OS.

You will need to download the 32 bit version of Fedora.
