I do not know exactly what updated, but the last few days I noticed I could no longer heard anything when playing music through XMMS with MPlayer plugin or any Flash video online such as YouTube. My login sounds and system clicks work so I know the hardware is working. I checked all my volume settings and nothing is muted.

Running the alsainfo too, I got the following information that may be helpful:
