    Some help?

I have Fedora 8 on one of my PCs right now and I want to install Ubuntu. I have the Ubuntu Disk in the PC and I click on the folder that says install and I click on sbin and it says it cannot display media. How do I overwrite Fedora and put Ubuntu on instead? I am a very new user to Linux and some step by step would be helpful. Thanks!

    Hello and Welcome!

You'll need to reboot the computer while the CD is in the tray. Just make sure your computer is set to boot from CD and you'll be off and running!

    Welcome to the forums!

Put the Ubuntu disk in your CD drive, set the machine to boot from the CD drive first, then reboot the machine.

Edit: looks like jayd512 pressed Submit faster than me.

It needs to be done in the BIOS settings. When you turn on your PC, try the Function buttons (F1, F2, F3...) One of them will take you to your BIOS settings, where you'll be able to set the first boot device. Select your CD-ROM, save and exit.
