    Aggravating Fedora 10 installation problems

Hello everyone. I've been trying to install/download the compatible version of Fedora 10 all this day, yet no progress. (the progress bar is like what you'd see on a windows )

Anyways, I have an intel Core 2 Duo CPU. Since I was very new to installing linux, I downloaded and tried to install the i386 version. The whole thing installs through text, none of the Anaconda GUI like I've been seeing in the tutorials.
Towards the end of the installation, a message says "its safe to reboot your system". When I do, the screen freezes and turns green.
After trying to install like this to no avail, I found out that I needed the x86_64 version for my Centrino Core 2 Duo processor.

After spending 8+ hours trying to download it I tried installing this one and now this tells me that my CPU with the x86_64 version is incompatible and that I need to use the i686 version...what the heck? I looked for the i686 version and all there is is the 600 mb CD.

    Right now, sitting on my computer, I've downloaded i386, x86_64 (both 3 GB+), and i686 (about 600 mb)....what am I doing wrong?

I'm running the 32 Bit version of Fedora 10 on my laptop with Core2 / Duo Centrino, with great success I might add.

    [glenn@coolhand ~]$ uname -a

    Fedora10 and Intel I7

Until the new kernel is available with support for the integrated memory management system that is different from the normal Intel processors such as the E series, you will have to wait. It is a common problem to all distributions. However, the delay should be in less than three or four weeks.

I7 is brand new, and not all kernel developers have access to one.

Could you post exact error message here?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
