Any way to differentiate all workspaces?
Hi All,
Its really a amazing feature of Linux to use workspaces, but i wonder is there any way to differentiate all the workspaces, i mean i have few same applications running on different different workspaces now when i traverse through workspaces it is really hard to make out that in which workspace i am until unless i explicitly look at down
Is there any other way by which i can differentiate them
Thanks and Regards,

If you're running KDE you can set a different wallpaper for each workspace. I'm not sure if this feature has made it to GNOME yet.

If you are running Compiz I believe there is an option to display the workspace number in a large font on the screen as you flick through them.

Fedora has Compiz and KDE available, you'd just have to install it. But that's a lot of trouble to go through just to switch tabs. You could create your own custom backgrounds that say "Desktop 1" and so forth. I'm sure there is another easier way to do this, but I haven't found it yet.

you COULD just open a gedit window on each one, and put a number into it
