Can't boot after installing Fedora 10

Very odd thing. When I boot up, my Laptop reports the operating system
is missing??? Unless, I put my XP installation disk in the drive, then
    Fedora will boot up fine.

If I put the Live install Fedora disk in & choose to boot from the HD, again it reports the OS is missing??

Clearly it isn't as here I am using Fedora after booting leaving my XP installation disk in the drive.

Incidentally, I don't have windows installed, Fedora only.

Can anyone help me boot up normally?

Something is wrong with GRUB or BIOS.
    Lets check GRUB first.
Post the contents of /boot/grub/grub.conf file here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

You need to boot from the Fedora install DVD and re-install the boot loader using rescue mode.
