Resolution Vs. Movie Player
Hi guys using FC10 and i have a confugsion regarding my screen (W LCD 19") resolution & VLC movie player.
When i set the resolution 1280 x 1024, the screen resolution are 100% perfect but when i play the movie in vlc Its not play smoothly
When i set the resolution 1024 x 768, the screen resolution and icon are too large but vlc able to lay movie smoothly.
What is the issue.
Is there any other movie player (able to lay .AVI, .MP4) which i can try in FC10

Hi lucky_chouhan,
Have you tried Mplayer? See links below for more information:
RepoView: RPM Fusion (Fedora - free) 10 Source RPM Packages
mplayer - movie player for linux
RPM Search gnome-mplayer-debuginfo-0.9.3-2.fc10.i386.rpm
I hope this is of help.

Hi lucky_chouhan,
You may be using kde!!
Ensure you have the latest packages and dependices are installed, from a terminal window as root, try running the following commands:
# whereis mplayer
(The output should give you the location were the application is based)
# yum update mplayer
or
You can use the GUI (graphical user interface) utility, to update software packages.
You should be able to update or install the dependices for Mplayer.
I hope this is of help.
