CUPS + MAC help please
first let me thank you for reading my post...
Here is the setup:
-I have a Linux Box - FC9 running a couple of domains
- I have the capability to print from this device. ..
-hp laserjet 1006
- I have a mac laptop and a PC laptop and I would like to print from either one of these devices.
the mac has osx 10.5.6 and is the primary machine, that i would like to print from.. it also has the driver for the printer already for when i USB to print... however once i try to add the printer to my printers on my mac it pauses immediatley ...
--- my theories are that maybe it could be a qeue issue ... which i have yet to establish.
-------or the fact that i am a newb.
--------- or i could be routing it incorrectly on my router
----------------or that my linux box doesn't know what to do once it gets the request from the mac.
thanks for any help you can give.

How are you trying to add the printer? You should try using the CUPS server interface. It can be accessed using a web browser, and using this address.
To access the server on another machine, replace localhost with the IP address.Code:http://localhost:631/

well I am trying to add the printer via the Mac's system preferences...
Do I need to set up a print qeue? and if so how does one go about that??
and how would I add the printer via the cups page?
...I have already added the printer on the linux box...
I think i need to set up communication between the mac and the linux box...
so that ideally when i hit print from the mac the server prints it in the office.
