Squid Proxy
I'm just wonder if anyone has configured Red Hat linux with Squid proxy then a 3rd party web filter software on top. Used this device as the default gateway, it has 2 interfaces (internal and external).
The reason I ask is I was just reading up on Squid porxy and it mentions that UDP applications ie real player, quake, and other media streaming applications won't work. What I'm wondering is, will the squid proxy application actually break the communication or will it just not be able to be filtered or proxied? What I'm curious is if my proxy device is has 2 NIC's and therefore a router, will this traffic be routed through the device and filtered by the 3rd party application ie. websense, surf control etc?
thanks
