Evaluation Program 30-days
Hello,
I intend to use the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Evaluation Program for the enterprise server.
It's mentioned this is a 30-day unsupported evaluation limited to 2 sockets.
What means two sockets ?
And what happens after the 30-day period ?
Thanks.
Regards,
Bruno

If you don't want to pay for Red Hat support, use CentOS instead.
It is exactly the same as Red Hat (recompiled from Red Hat source code) but without Red Hat brand name or support.

This is what I got from Red Hat customer service (translated):
"...There are no differences between an annual license (software) and a trial one apart from technical support. Trial license owners are not allowed to contact the technical team...
<Up to 2 sockets> means that the server can partitioned into a maximum of 2 CPUs..."
While the answer to your Q1 is clear it is still unclear to me what the "30-day" part means. I can only assume one has the ability to request some sort of support, maybe limited to the installation process.
HTH.
