Domain Names and Host Names
Heres something else that might help understand dns a little better. Im installing a Red Hat server system, hopefully text only. Anyways Im at the part where you fill in your DHCP stuff. I want to do this manually so I can better understand/reinsure a connected computer servers ip details. I
don't know what to enter for the hostname **host.domain.com
am i suppose to put in cfl.rr.com?<---Cable internet provider address
because cfl.rr.com
has two dns servers it looks like that are,
65.32.5.111, and
65.32.5.112
and I own a dns name called
relik.ath.cx
with the ip address 68.203.95.27
So I figured I would make relik.ath.cx my turtary dns
and use the other dns ip address's for a personal
domain name.
Is this possible using linux in just the text version?
Hmm I pretty much asked you three questions or more
so I might as well just post some questions you might be able to read.
can I use thoughs two 65.32.5.XXX dns ip addresses for
two personal domain names?
can I still use relik.ath.cx on the side?
what should I fill in for the
host.domain.com area when installing redhat linux?
is there any extra things you could tell me that will help
me put to use all three dns names and numbers
that I should include in my installation of redhat linux?
and is a 300 gigabite to much for the computer that is
going to be responsable for these bits of information?
also anything else that might help me or you would like
to share with the biggest linux fan in the world than
please let me know. thankyou very much.
