Exclamation Upgrade package without being online !!!

    Hi !
These days i am using centos 5 and when ever i need anything i need to get online and upgrade necessary program.
Is it possible to upgrade packages without being online? Or like once download from online and able to use that offline in another system in future time?
For eg: once i installed vlc media player in centos downloading that from repository but i got it formatted. Now if i need to have vlc again i need to have repository. It is a bit problematic for me.
So, if once download and can be reused then after just like in windows. it would be good, is n't it?
    Plz. tell if anyone knows.
    Thanks in advance.
