32 bit to 64 bit -linux
Hi,
I have a pc type 64 bit, i accidentally downloaded the 32 bit(i.e X86) versions of fedora and ubuntu etc. every time i booted with the downloaded live cd will generates error because of the PC architecture varications. i was frustrated because of this.
But i have a properly installed ubuntu ultimate on my machine that is amd_64 bit (downloaded). Currently working
my query is it possible to convert the 32 bit live cd to 64 bit live cd, either by doing some compilation or cant possible. please give me some suggestion to work on this. because i have many Live cd's which are 32 bit.
Thanks all.

32bit distributions should work fine on 64bit systems, in fact they have been traditionally recommended due to difficulties with some applications. Can you post details of the errors?

I have downloaded yoper linux and wrote it to a live cd, similarly many cd. i got some error during the live cd booting, currently i facing these errors with all fedora version like 7,8,9,10. only thing fed 10 will boot to the gnome, but mouse and keyboard not working.
my question can i use my ubuntu ultimate to correct the 32 bit version of live cd to change into to 64 bit for my usage?

It seems this might be related to enabling of virtualisation in your BIOS.
Check this thread for details. I believe this was an issue with older kernels but is likely now resolved.
