how enable new installed GCC for kernel?

hello
i am first time posting a problem threre i hope all the Experience Linux Guru help me and Guide me...
i am Java Software Enginer and these dayes working for a application which useing Multithreading

my deploy machine is linux (Fedora 10 or UBUNTU)...
problem: threading support is low in linux accoring to Java multiThreading, linux use process not thread..

i read abt new Thread library for Linux NPTL and i check its version in my machine which is
using that command getconf GNU_LIBPTHREAD_VERSION NPTL 2.9 show me the version
i read from somewhere that bt default NPTL is not enable in linux...

SO PLEASE I need Guide that how and from where i enable NPTL in linux


i have little bit experience on linux so need urgent and special guide from u all Experience linux GURU....

i hope someOne must help and guide me
