    Unhappy linux nightmare dude!

this is the 3rd distro i try, including ubuntu and something else. im currently running:

fedora 10 (live and full install) i386 and i686 versions tried.
    tested durring setup, and checksum

    evga 680i chipset
    p4 3.2 ghz prescott
    dualchan corsair xms2 1gigx2
    s-ata 80 gb
    xfx 7900gt / also tried ati x800xt

also tried asus p5nsli with same cpu and mem and vid. none worked, same problem!

im so puzzled... i find it strange that i was able to install linux ears ago with old distros and with AMD!!! but intel not working for me?!

right after the setup is finished loading (black screen with white text all over the place) and the gui setup comes up, all i see is is a bunch of green lines and other colored lines ALLLLLL over the screen! the hdd light is moving around but no matter how long i leave the comp running, the lines dont go away?!? two different computers, same problem. what the efffff dude!

helpppp please! i really hope i dont have to type a whole bunch of linux commands to get it to work, because im completely brain dead nub when it comes to programing. <----

    Hi and Welcome !

Its a Graphics Card problem only. Have you tried Text Install or Failsafe mode?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

thanks for your reply, i have not. sorry that i dont know enough to not ask you how to do it, but i would love to know how. but then again, i have tried two different videocards, its not possible that linux installs fail for nvidia andddd ati?? if i get the text install done and then boot up to the same thing, i would be waisting another 3 days of trying to get it installed!

I havent installed Fedora 10 in a while, but I believe text mode is an option from the bootloader,

I had a lot of problem with Fedora 10 on my evga 790i ultra mobo, and an evga 8800 gts GFX card. I have learned that Nvidia motherboards SUCK with linux. I tried a similar setup later, with the same graphics card, but an intel mobo, and it worked perfectly. The mobo may be the problem.
