    Post Expanding partition

    Hi,
I'm currently running RHEL 4 update 5 and want to upgrade to RHEL 5.2. When I try to do my upgrade, it tells me that my / partition needs more space. Is there a way to expand the partition without losing my data or having to rebuild the machine? Alternatively, if I soft link the partition to another that has more space, could I 'fool' the install into thinking there's enough space?
Any advice or additional recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

you can add the parition to a logical volume, create one if its not present. and then you can increase the size of the partition.

Check out the Parted Magic LiveCD for working with your partitions. It's a small/quick download and is very easy to use, and it makes quick work of resizing partitions.
